Fed's Fisher expects rate hike early 2015

FXStreet (Łódź) - Speaking on CNBC on Friday Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher said that he expects the central bank to hike interest rates "sometime early next year" if the US economy continues showing signs of improvement.

The Fed policymaker stressed that it was easier for him recently to find consensus with other members of the FOMC and that he felt "very comfortable" with Janet Yellen´s proceedings as the head of the central bank.

"The general tone is we're getting confirmation [of an economic rebound] through the data and the anecdotal evidence we get—all of us talk to business leaders around the country," Fisher told CNBC . "Things are moving in the right direction and that's good for the real economy. It has been enabled by uber-cheap money."

The Fed official added that he didn't consider allowing inflation to accelerate as the right way to stimulate employment, and stressed that CPI above the 2% target level shouldn't be accepted.
