BoE: Reaksi Negatif GBP Hanya Dengan Kenaikan Suku Bunga 25 bp akan Mengejutkan – Credit Suisse

Keputusan suku bunga BoE hari ini telah mengalami pergolakan yang intens terkait ekspektasi. Para ekonom di Credit Suisse menganalisis prospek GBP menjelang pertemuan.

EUR/GBP akan Bergerak Menuju 0,8450

Suku bunga puncak tersirat Sonia sekarang berada di 5,85% dibandingkan 6,50% pra-IHK. Kami akan terkejut jika GBP bereaksi sangat negatif jika hanya kenaikan suku bunga 25 bp, mengingat koreksi yang telah terjadi.

Kemungkinan akan membutuhkan laporan inflasi BoE yang sangat dovish dan/atau komentar dari Gubernur Bailey untuk menyebabkan lebih banyak kerusakan, sesuatu yang sulit kita lihat mengingat bank sentral masih mencoba menjelaskan mengapa proyeksi awalnya sangat melenceng.

Pada saat yang sama, jika BoE benar-benar melanjutkan dan menaikkan suku bunga 50 bp, pasar dapat salah langkah setelah penurunan rates Inggris yang agresif baru-baru ini, dan mungkin memerlukan antisipasi kembali suku bunga terminal mendekati 6,00%.
