  • Slippage

Is a slight open or close price movement that occurs due to lack of liquidity at the requested price or market gaps. Depending on the market conditions, the order may be filled at a more favourable rate (positive slippage) or less favorable rate (negative slippage). If a broker has a deep liquidity pool, only few orders will experience slippage. It is more common during high volatility periods, major news releases or when the market is illiquid.
